25 Things I Learned on NET

December. Oh, beautiful December. Do you know why December is so beautiful? Because it is when we celebrate Jesus’ birth! It’s also the month of waiting for the NEW YEAR. Speaking of NEW YEAR, NET Canada CELEBRATES 25 YEARS of ministry! In honour of this celebration, I decided to make a list of 25 things I’ve learned on my two years of serving with NET! I hope you enjoy and learn a few things too.

25 Things I’ve learned on NET:

  1. The Importance of sisterhood. And brotherhood too.
  2. I can not function without personal prayer. 
  3. I am capable of living out of a suitcase.
  4. Not everything is about shopping. 
  5. It's okay to not know what's coming up next.
  6. Whitehorse is the most beautiful place in Canada. 
  7. Ministry of presence is so necessary and so appreciated. 
  8. Always trust your gut. 
  9. Saying “I love you” isn't as scary as it seems. 
  10. Always look at the positive outcome of things.
  11. Never miss a moment to evangelize. 
  12. Modesty truly is hottesty. 
  13. Crying doesn't make you weak. 
  14. Call your family as much as you can, they truly love you. 
  15. Road trips are actually so much fun. 
  16. There's so much good food out there. 
  17. There's so many people that care for you. 
  18. There's so much music out there.
  19. JOURNAL! You will thank yourself later.
  20. Appreciate rest. 
  21. Affirm people around you, whether you know them or not. 
  22. Be a good listener.
  23. You can get ready under 5 minutes, shower included.
  24. Serving with NET isn't as scary as it seems. 
  25. You don't know the impact that you have in people's lives. 

I am extremely blessed to be part of this mission for a second round! NET has been a great place for personal growth, spiritually and mentally, through NET I’ve learned many things that will help me for the rest of my life, and for that, I am extremely thankful.
