Tena Koutou Katoa! Salutations to you all! My name is Gabriel Fortune and I am from Tauranga, New Zealand. Firstly, I would like to thank you all in advance for being a part of this mission by being a co-missionary and joining us in bringing souls closer to God.

My NET journey began in 2018 where I was recruited to be a NET missionary in NET Australia. There I served on the Bundaberg NET Team until June and then I got called to be a team leader on the North Rockhampton NET Team for the remainder of the year. Halfway through my time in North Rockhampton, I felt a calling to do a second year with NET Australia and I did so and joined the Iona College Team that was based in Brisbane. After finishing my year with NET in 2019, I had the intention of doing ministry work in New Zealand either in youth or in campus ministry. That all changed when I made the crazy decision to follow God’s call to come and serve here in Canada on the Keewatin Le-Pas team!

Throughout my time serving as a missionary on NET both in Australia and Canada, I’ve realized I have grown in trust in God and the need for young people to hear about God and his promises for them. So, I decided to apply for mission staff as a supervisor because I think my supervisors during my time serving as a missionary played such an integral role in shaping me into who I am now. I would like to play a part in changing lives whether it be pastorally or just sharing my knowledge from my experiences in NET to future missionaries.

Once again, thank you so much for your part in supporting NET Canada financially or pastorally through prayer! By supporting my mission monthly or donating over $50, you will receive newsletters and personal letters updating you on how the youth of Canada are encountering Christ and being transformed! If you have any prayer intentions, please feel free to email me at

Kia Mihi!
