Jonas LaForest, Drayton Valley, AB

Hi, my name is Jonas LaForest. I am eighteen years old, and I come from a town in rural Alberta called Drayton Valley. I love Jesus, music, and sports.

The reason that I chose to serve a year with NET is that I want to help spread God’s message, especially in the tough time that we are in right now. I believe that it is more important than ever to evangelize and tell people about the word of God. In a world where people are increasingly going away from God, we need to help to bring people back to God. I have seen people growing distant from God in my hometown so I want to help young people all over Canada who are suffering from the same problem. I was inspired to do NET by all the amazing people that I have met who have done NET themselves.

This year I will be serving on the Fraser Valley East team! I am so excited to be stationed here in Abbotsford, and I have been set on fire to bring Jesus to the youth here at St. John Brebeuf. God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. God has prepared me to minister to the youth here, and I have put my trust in God that he will show me the right things to do.

I invite you to join the mission of NET through your financial support. By supporting the mission you are allowing me to bring the word of God to many more people than I would otherwise be able to. If you give $50 or more, or give monthly, you will receive the NET newsletter and my personal letter updating you on my mission throughout the year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page, you will be in my prayers.
