This past month has been amazing for the Keewatin Le Pas team as we continue to work both in the communities and in Le Pas itself. This month started out with us finishing up our ministry in Pukatawagan. I had the chance to see all the hard work that our team had done in terms of preparing the children for confirmation, and in turn, come together at the end of our time there in a beautiful Confirmation mass. I saw kids who at the beginning of our time in the community wanted nothing to do with church and were only there to have fun staying for mass by the end of it. Not only did they stay, but they also were trying to learn the mass parts and show what they knew already. It touched my heart to see them growing in their faith in a special way like that. I had the chance to see all the hard work that our team had done in terms of Confirmation prep come together at the end of our time there in a beautiful Confirmation mass. Seeing the joy on both the youth’s and their parent’s faces really showed me that what we had done was important, and really appreciated. I know that our whole team hopes that we can go back before the year is over.
After Pukutawagan we made our way back to The Pas and had the chance to do ministry there for the first time. It was great seeing all the youth being attentive to what we were trying to tell them. It was also great seeing them have fun when we got to play games or sing songs with them. All our ministry in The Pas wasn’t solely with the youth, however. We also had the chance to lead a praise and worship night and help to lead the music for an adoration night. Seeing the people come to our praise and worship night and listen to both our songs and our testimonies was awesome. I look forward to being able to go back and continue our ministry there before the end of the year.
We are now headed to a community called Pinehouse, where we will continue to do our best to bring both the love and the joy of Christ with us as we go. I know that as we get a chance to interact and teach the youth of this community, we will see just how much God works through our ministry. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
