October Ministry Update

Hello Friends, 

I hope this finds you well! These past few months have been so incredible, our Lord has truly blessed us with so many wonderful people and opportunities and I’m so excited to share and tell you about them. 

In the beginning of October, we traveled from Ottawa to New Brunswick visiting the beautiful towns of Miramichi, Rothesay, Grand Bay-Westfield, and Moncton. We were so fortunate to experience a retreat in each of these places. After New Brunswick we headed to the East Coast, towards Prince Edward’s Island. We stayed there for about a week, running retreats in both Charlottetown and Summerside. The scenery along the way was so incredible, Canada is truly the place to be in Autumn.

“One amazing experience that I’ve had so far has to be when my team and I put on a three day retreat for youth in Moncton New Brunswick. A lot of the same youth showed up and we really got to see the lord work wonders in their lives. It was a really fun time and it showed me how God can make things work for us even if we don’t know 100% of the time.” – Josh 

Being able to encounter the youth almost every day while being on the road is such an amazing gift from our Lord. In high school it’s really important to have someone who can help you stay grounded in your faith and grow in your relationship with God. We feel truly honored to be that outlet for our Lord and his Word. Back in October our plans for ministry in Newfoundland were changed, we were pretty disappointed but we really put our trust and confidence into God, trusting that he was going to bring great fruit out of our hard situation and he sure did. 

“…I was really disappointed when I found out that we wouldn’t be going to Newfoundland. But I immediately brought it to prayer, asking our Lord to just show me why He didn’t allow us to go. And He did. During the time when we would’ve been in Newfoundland, we had a retreat in Ottawa instead. There, I met a youth who was deeply searching for proof of the existence of God. By the end of the retreat they shared with me that the joy they experienced during our prayer time at the retreat was unlike anything he had ever felt before, and that this joy alone was enough to prove that God is real.” –Mara 

We are currently placed in the Toronto area, we have been so blessed with the retreats we’ve got to do and all the wonderful host families we’ve gotten to meet. One way we as a team have seen the Lord work through us all, is the people, the youth and others, that he has brought into our lives and the way they have helped us and we have helped them.

“My favorite part of being on the road so far has been host home ministry. I have loved meeting and staying with all of the different families and learning their stories.” -Nathanael 

“…The Lord has been showing me how much He works through me to reach people, and I’ve seen so many youth’s hearts become open to Him over the course of our retreats. I feel spoiled by the Father! He is just so good to me. We were driving to get to a retreat early in the morning and we had prayed to see a moose, and we saw a huge moose in the middle of the road! That was one of my favourite moments so far! :)” –Elizabeth 

“I feel so blessed to have the team that I do. Our team time and travel days are filled with competitive games, deep conversations, and laughter. Each and every one of my teammates are so unique but they each bring their own special something that makes the group the beautiful community that it is. Something that the Lord has been consistently revealing to me is His gentle Love and delight. I’ve been enjoying just being with Him in prayer and being pursued by His love.  Our God is so good!” -Dakota 

“My time on the road so far has been nothing short of phenomenal! One of the things that makes our ministry not only amazing and fun, but even possible in the first place, is team prayer. This is when we come together and praise the Lord as a team, and it happens every day, good or bad.” -William
