FRUITS OF OUR MINISTRY

Dear friends,

The NET retreat team has witnessed abundant fruit from our ministry during this fall season. Since we arrived in Nova Scotia, we’ve visited and hosted retreats in its southern parts and then proceeded to Moncton, New Brunswick. We fell in love with the East Coast, especially Peggy’s Cove. After our stay in New Brunswick, we drove to Prince Edward Island! We got the opportunity to cross the famous 12 900m Confederation Bridge, which was a wild experience; we felt so tiny compared to how big the surrounding waters were. After a few events across the island, we drove back to New Brunswick. We made retreats in Fredericton, Miramichi, and Saint John. We then went to Windsor, Ontario, and stayed for a week, and now we’re in Simcoe, Ontario. We’ve driven over 2000 km and done 15 retreats with over 650 students this November. In summary, we’ve encountered just over 1900 youth and young adults across the eastern provinces alone. We even got the chance to organize recruiting events, which allowed people to ask further questions about our ministry and life on the road.

Underlying truth and identity has been our theme for most of this month. We got to talk about our identity as children of God and how to rely entirely on and trust in His plan for our lives as we navigate our ways through the world.

When asked, “What’s one question you would ask God?” one of the youths from Mariah’s small groups said they’d ask for help to get closer and have a better relationship with Him, which was terrific. When she asked to use two words to describe prayer, some said they felt “loved” and “relief,” which was awesome! Another youth from her small group had said they never realized that they could invite God into her heart but desired to make an effort to let Him in and to find out who they are with Him in her life. Moments like these are where we are so thankful to see the endless love and care that our Heavenly Father has for His children, and witnessing His graces being poured upon them is a pure blessing and can be incredibly eye-opening.

As we continue to make retreats in the southern parts of Ontario and prepare our hearts for Advent, the Lord keeps filling us with the Holy Spirit, and we pray that he does, too! Please know that you are in our prayers, and we ask that you continue to pray for us, too. We can’t wait to see and share the miracles that God will do in the lives of youths in the next month.

God bless,

The Retreat Team ( Amanda, Chris, Aoife, Blaise, Mariah, Mackenzie, Mickela)
