Elizabeth Giguère

Hi! I’m Elizabeth Giguére. I served on NET in 2010/11 at Christ Our Saviour Parish in Steinbach, MB and was blessed to serve another year with NET on their Mission Staff. Now I have the privilege of joining staff as an Administration Coordinator. NET has played an incredible role in my faith journey and I hope to be able to give back to this ministry by serving on staff.

For those reading this who do not know what NET is, let me tell you all about it. NET stands for National Evangelization Teams. It is a movement that trains young adults in youth ministry and sends them across Canada in parish or retreat teams to proclaim the Gospel to youth in parishes, schools and communities. During my year on a parish team in Steinbach, MB I had the opportunity to see the youth of the parish grow in their faith and learn to share their faith with others. It was a moving experience and I love hearing about the ways that the parish’s youth ministry has continued to grow and expand.

Now that you know a bit about NET, here is a little about me: I have a BA in Medieval Studies and Greek and Roman Studies and a graduate certificate in Digital Humanities. I worked as a pastry chef at a local brewpub in Victoria, BC. It was both challenging and fun to create desserts and I loved seeing the joy that some of my creations brought to customers and coworkers alike. I love to read, play board games and go bouldering (it’s rock-climbing but with no ropes).

For NET to operate and continue to grow, we need supporters to help to cover the financial costs of ministry. My goal is to create a team of monthly donors, totalling $1000.00 a month. Please prayerfully consider supporting this important ministry. Every little bit helps. Prayers are also helpful as we cannot fulfill this ministry without God’s grace.

God bless,
Elizabeth Giguére
